Spice of Life catering made our wedding a smash hit. We had a lot of out-of-towners attending, so we opted for a Tex Mex/barbecue vibe, which they nailed. Their staff leading up to the event were by far our favorite vendors to work with - creative, curious, and excited. Day of, their wait staff went above and beyond, helping to resolve little issues that came up that were not necessarily in the job description, and providing really incredible hospitality to our guests. We did not have a dedicated professional wedding planner, so I highly recommend Spice of Life to people planning weddings in our position. They will make it easy for you!.

I had to get my father's funeral catered and this team did a great job helping me. From getting things rolling quickly, follow up calls to keep on track, clearly communicating and setting expectations, transparent costing, set up and tear down, and, most importantly, the food was great. The staff even made sure that my mom got food and didn't have to wait in line.
I can't recommend them highly enough. Job well done.

I am never disappointed when it comes to Spice of Life Catering or The Veranda! The venue is beautiful, but its the staff and the decadent food that makes the event. Professional, eager to assist and always have a smile. Jenna, Cristina, Marsh and everyone takes pride in what they do. You don't see that as much nowadays. Thank you for making our event a success!

We attended a good friends party at the Western Hills on 1/27/2024. Once we entered the venue the facility lost its shine... things were a little off...the poor parents and family were having to apologize for the disappointment of what was to be a beautiful celebration in a venue that did not measure up to its promises.
because of them having to endure the sloppiness of the venue staff.. they failed to have enough seating for the ceremony and to serve the dinner that was ordered for the event. they failed to have smiling staff. They failed at having enough staff . What was to be a beautiful venue and dinner did not happen...please take this as a warning and don’t ever book this caterer for anything...

I would have given a 5 star review based on my experience prior to our wedding date. Jessica was a breeze to work with, very nice, responding super quick and always answering our questions. Our tasting was a great experience. It was our first mistake to assume that we were paying ‘per person’ and not ‘per piece’. It was incorrect to assume they would bring enough food to feed per person. I wrongly gave our count as a per person count and not a per piece count. This became clear the day of the wedding. The wedding party arrived mid cocktail hour and there was very little appetizers remaining. It was stated that we were offered some, but that’s wrong. Guests don’t lie about being offered food, businesses do to cover themselves. I was told the dinner was cold for some guests & plates were picked up before they were finished with them. Others didn’t even get a plate—for what reason, it is still to this day unknown. It’s extremely sad to know that some of my wedding guests, including my own brother who was stuck in traffic didn’t get a plate to eat. When it came to the cake cutting, instead of following the instruction written in the timeline we gave them which clearly stated to cut the top of the cake, they decided not to, leaving yet again guests without a piece of cake! Instead of following the instruction from the bride herself, they took instruction from a random guest who told them to “save it because it’s tradition”. Instead of just confirming (again, it was clearly written in their notes) not a single soul asked me, and they instead blamed my coordinator for going along with it. I only found out when I was leaving someone told me to remember to take my cake, which was already ruined by being wrapped in Saran Wrap. I was not comped in any way for ruining my cake. It was ~20-30 servings. Lastly, they ran out of our late night snack—yes, AGAIN leaving most guests without a plate. This was blamed on me, because I lowered the count a few days prior. Well since it’s per piece & they served people 2-3 tacos so of course it was going to run out quickly. I was told it was because my guests took more. No, it was confirmed that spice of life was serving it, so not possible. Only about 30 or so guests got tacos and this is completely factual, so someone dropped the ball. My suggestion is to confirm counts and make sure you know exactly what you are getting with Spice of life to ensure you aren’t shorted on food. We were supposed to take home leftover food. I’ve had friends use spice of life and they took home tons of plates after their wedding. I find it truly puzzling that not a single morsel of food remained. We had several no shows, a couple unintended guests sure but yet had ZERO leftovers? There was no explanation for that other than they fed some vendors they weren’t supposed to. That is again a problem with following instruction. After the wedding I explained everything that had happened from my point of view and some guests I had spoken with. Jessica apologized for some of it but still was adamant there was enough food. We will agree to disagree about that, and since Jessica herself was not present (I also was never introduced to any type of manager being present either) she cannot really say 100% what happened or didn’t. Mind you, I was on my honeymoon right after for two weeks. All the while going back and forth about it, and had to deal with paying, getting refunded, having to do the math for them of what I should have been charged etc. It was a mess for about a month. All I know is I would never recommend them to anyone. The one thing I tried not to do (leave my guests hungry) was exactly what happened! It’s very sad because they had great reviews and still to this day I don’t see a negative one aside from mine. It still upsets me to this day that it was such a poor experience for my once in a lifetime event.

We used Spice of Life for catering for our wedding last weekend and we could not recommend them enough! All of our family is Polish so, when it comes to food, their standards are very high. Spice of Life exceeded all of their expectations! Everything from the hors d'oeuvres, to the sides, to the main entree, to the late-night snack was absolutely delicious! The portions were generous and the rates were very competitive. The hardest part was picking what we wanted to serve at our wedding as everything we tried was amazing. Jessica and Kimberly were such a pleasure to work with. They were very responsive and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. Spice of Life was the best caterer we could have chosen!

My husband and I had a great experience with Spice of Life Catering. We worked with Jessica, and she was awesome and so helpful. Our whole experience from food tasting, to them catering our wedding, and even cutting the wedding cake was so great. We enjoyed the food, and so did our greats, we got compliments on that. As a wedding planner I would highly recommend Spice of Life catering! The set up and clean up crews were highly professional and got the job DONE! They were quick and friendly, allowing our florists and baker to set up with plenty of time to spare. Additionally, the food was delicious and with over 200 people and plenty of serving stations, guests were comfortable getting a little bit of everything! Fantastic job to the bartenders, servers and crew - thank you for all of your hard work!
