This team worked hard behind the scenes to bring all of us 150 people fresh dishes that were as authentic as you could get! We recruited Toast Catering to be a part of our wedding reception team, and they truly delivered. With additional investments, they were able to cater to our custom menu--literally bringing all sides of our cultures to the table.

For appetizers we had:
- pork tonkatsu lollipops (smoked Pork Belly, Tonkatsu Sauce, Sriracha Kewpie)
- ahi tuna tacos (tuna tartare, yuzu avocado puree, micro shiso)
- vegetarian egg rolls.

For main dishes we had:
- Chopped Asian Salad - Edamame, romaine lettuce, red cabbage, carrots, green onions, Mandarin oranges, crispy noodles, ginger dressing.
- Vegan chow fun
- Mongolian beef and vegetable stir-fry
- Butter garlic chicken wings
- Asian string beans
- and my favorite! Taiwanese braised pork over rice (滷肉飯). I requested that they print out a Chinese label for my side of the family, and they were able to do so. I appreciated that greatly.

For desserts we had:
- churros with chocolate sauce
- lemon bars, mini chocolate cupcakes, berry cheesecake cups, macarons

It was all a hit! The Taiwanese side of the family gave good credit to the chefs and the rest of the guests didn't leave any leftovers to take home. Toast was also able to provide coffee, tea, decaf, water and included rental services for glassware and linens. The staff were also very nice, including Luis and his teammates, who came over to bring us our own plate of appetizers while we got busy, refilling our signature drinks when we were socializing, and even saved a few churros at the end for us. I'd highly recommend Toast Catering to those who would like to have an all-inclusive setup with a trustworthy team!

We used TOAST Catering for our wedding of approximately 150 people in July 2017 and they couldn't have done a better job. From the beginning we were so excited to work with Sam and Kim, we could tell how dedicated they both are to their business. The food was outstanding, the bartenders were great and the coordination of everything was perfect. I had multiple guests comment on the quality of the food. Their servers were also amazing, my mother-in-law commented on what a great job they did and how you didn't even know they were there. I really cannot stress enough the quality of the food and the many options we had to choose from. After the ceremony, Kim personally brought over a tray of appetizers and two drinks for my husband and I before we started taking pictures and I thought that was so sweet. I will definitely recommend them to anyone I know looking for a high quality caterer at a reasonable cost!

11/10 We loved working with Toast for our wedding and would absolutely recommend (with just a few notes for the team).
Food - excellent, we had a great tasting that was custom since we wanted to bring elements of our families' Mexican and Indian regional heritage into the food served so we picked one of the items they offered and I asked if they could do a custom dish.

Chef Lloyd went above and beyond - he not only asked for and delivered on a custom recipe, he also added an optional side dish to complement our tasting. We approved & gave our notes. Come day of the wedding, my husband and I both exclaimed how great the food was and it was probably even 5x better than the tasting - we still have guests telling us how memorable and good the food was from our wedding & I myself wish I could have again.

You can't go wrong in hiring Toast Catering for your upcoming event. Food and service are top notch and they are the epitome of excellent service. From their back end team to the day of team, they are the best all around. As a wedding planner, they make my job easy. They're always there to answer any questions I have (in a very timely manner), and are there on the day of to make sure the guests (and the planner) are taken care of. On both ends, they work very efficiently without hesitation. Anytime I needed something, they were always there to help. On event days, I also appreciate how the team stays back to make sure all trash is removed off site and will check in with me to confirm that. It's nice to know I can always count of their staff to take care of this so I'm not left behind picking up at the end of the evening. It helps that the day of team at Toast always knows the drill! I highly recommend Toast Catering to anyone looking for a full service catering company for their event!

Toast catered our wedding at the end of March. They are all around the most amazing caterers in San Diego. The food is seriously some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life. All of the guests at our wedding commented on how incredible the food was. Even our other vendors were coming up to us to tell us how much they loved it all! More than that though the entire team is made up of the most phenomenal people. From the owners, Kim and Sam, to the chefs to the servers each and every person was so kind, caring and attentive. Choosing them as our caterers was the easiest part of wedding planning for sure! Our tasting with them was such a beautiful experience. From then until the day of the wedding they took such great care of us. We love Toast Catering and highly highly recommend them. Thank you guys again for being a part of making our wedding the best day of our lives!

I booked Toast for my wedding in July and while their food was good, the service was less than. I spent weeks going back and forth with their sales manager picking food, tableware, etc. We were getting married at a private residence and I wanted them to use the onsite kitchen instead of paying for a “pop up kitchen” and they said this would be fine. Long story short, the sales manager who had drafted my contract left the company and everything went downhill from there. We went for our tasting and were told they would need to do an onsite visit to decide if they could use the kitchen (after we had already been told they could). We set up the onsite visit and when they showed up, they took pictures, said everything looked good and would get back to us if they didn’t think that set-up would work. We never heard a thing.
Two weeks before the wedding I submitted the final guest headcount and asked for the final invoice. I didn’t end up receiving the final invoice until 4 days before my wedding and the prices on almost EVERYTHING had changed from forks, cup, garbage can, etc. all had gone up in price. Plus, they added the pop-up kitchen to the invoice without even consulting with us. So here I was days before my wedding combing through every email and proposal highlighting the changes and adding up what the total should be according to our SIGNED contract. They ended up (mostly) honoring our original proposal (and signed contract), but that was beside the point. Who needs that stress 4 days before their wedding?
Then comes the day of the wedding, they put bread rolls on our perfectly set table hours BEFORE guests even arrived. Our wedding was in a backyard, ceremony on one side, reception on the other. So these bread rolls sat on the table in the heat and were an eye sore in every photo. I even asked my coordinator if she could have them pick them up and when she asked them, they told her sure, but then they will have to put them out during the ceremony.
It’s frustrating when you spend a year planning every single detail of your special day to have big yellow bread rolls in every photo, not to mention stale by the time dinner was served some five hours later.

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! Toast Catering is the best caterer you can imagine, you should BOOK them! The food is delicious, fresh, and unique! Kim and Sam are so easy to work with and made our wedding dreams come true! The food was really important to my husband and me. We did a wonderful tasting with lots of fun options. Kim was very responsive, helpful and on top of our wedding the whole year beforehand, she always responded to my questions and concerns. The appetizers were a huge hit, we loved the Kobe Beef Sliders. We also ended up having 185 people for dinner which I was worried was a lot but all of our guests raved about how wonderful the food was and our buffet lines were quick and efficient. Sam, the head chef, also came out to check on the progress multiple times making me as the bride feel so much at ease. (I noticed he came out a few times to ensure all was going well!) I would highly recommend Toast Catering to anyone planning a large event or wedding, they are the perfect caterers to work with on your big day!!

The only thing you really need to know about Toast is this: multiple guests told us that their food was by far the best wedding food they’d ever had. And we completely agree!

Kim, Chef Sam & the entire team at Toast were wonderful every step of the way, even helping us seamlessly navigate multiple postponements forced by the COVID-19 pandemic – they were kind and easy to work with throughout that process and honored all original agreements. They coordinated our linen rentals and desserts with their partners and were a one-stop contact for us, and were very communicative throughout the process.

And of course, a caterer’s most important quality is their food, and Toast excelled tremendously on that front! Wedding food is so often “just OK” but as food-lovers it was important to us to have really good food at our wedding. We loved everything we tried at our tasting so much, and we were so excited when that translated to the larger quantities at the wedding itself: every single dish Toast made was superb! Our tray-passed appetizers included ahi tuna wontons, kobe beef sliders, and lumpia – the latter was a major highlight of the wedding as one of our families is Filipino, and it was such a fun (and delicious!) tribute to our culture. Toast generously agreed to make it for our wedding after we saw them post about it on Instagram after another event. It was such a hit! Every part of our buffet dinner was also excellent, from the salads, rolls, mac and cheese, and fingerling potatoes (seriously, even the basics were delicious!) all the way up to the main entrees in a slow-roasted tri-tip and pesto aioli salmon. We also loved the late night pizzas they made for us, and we sourced individual dessert shots, mini pies, and other treats from their partner, Sweet Cheeks.

We would recommend Toast in a heartbeat!
